Last year we delivered a Training for Trainers project to three of our Local Partners in Kamembe, Rwanda: Audace, Alphonsine and Fidele. They wanted to think about how they could share with other people the music skills they’ve been using in different care settings over the past 8 years. It was fantastic to have these local trainers to turn to when The Gallagher Trust asked us if we could help their staff get started with using music with the children they care for in the north of Rwanda (Gisenyi).

Last month, Audace and Alphonsine travelled to Gisenyi to deliver 2 days of introductory training to 8 members of The Gallagher Trust staff. These staff now have a strong foundation of ideas of musical activities and techniques, as well as musical instruments, so that they can run music sessions for the children with disabilities in their care. Thank you Alphonsine and Audace!
