Recruitment
In 2009 we needed a volunteer team to help us deliver the project in Bethlehem. Opportunities like this arise fairly regularly and if you might be interested to volunteer we would always like to hear from you so we can let you know when we are recruiting. Our projects are always led by professional Music Therapists. However, we often also have opportunities for people who have not yet undertaken music therapy training, but have relevant experience and are interested to learn more about music therapy alongside our Local Partners. Such volunteers are recruited as 'Assistants' to the Music Therapists leading projects. Please send an email to our Projects' Coordinator, Jane Robbie, if you are interested in being on our mailing list for future volunteering opportunities or have any questions. For insight into what it is like to volunteer, take a look at the relevant albums in our Gallery.
"Thank you for all your support throughout Project Bethlehem 2009 and for the opportunity you gave us in the first place. We have had a truly fascinating experience and can’t wait to see how the Project develops."
(Liz Coombes and Hannah McCabe, Music Therapist and Assistant, Project Bethlehem 2009)
We also produce an information pack on Music Therapy as a Career. This pack offers information on all the Postgraduate music therapy training courses in the UK, case studies from people who have recently trained as a music therapist, links to other resources, as well as some information on the history of music therapy. A small fee of £5 is charged to cover our costs. To order a pack or find out more please email cleojordan@musicastherapy.org.
