I couldn’t have been more surprised to answer the phone this afternoon and find myself speaking to the recording artist, Duffy. Duffy was looking to donate a baby grand piano for use in music therapy sessions, something which sadly we weren’t able to make use of (although we were quick to signpost her to some other places which might). She was really interested to hear more about our work and when I asked why she was such a passionate supporter of music therapy, she explained, “Where sometimes words and language fail us, music heals the heart and connects us.” Although we weren’t able to house Duffy’s piano, we hope to stay in touch and find an opportunity for her to come and see our work in action. An exciting phone call can quite make your day!
