This has been a significant project, made possible only by the generosity and expertise of our volunteer contributors! Through the power of social media, we were fortunate to connect with Debashree Dasgupta, Music Practitioner & Researcher for Education, Health and Society, based in Mumbai.

We are incredibly grateful to Debashree for dedicating hours of her time to thoughtfully review the entire Hindi course subtitling and website content. With this strengthened platform, Debashree shares our hope that Music Helps will continue to reach a greater number of caregivers and to strengthen dementia care across India:

As part of the linguistic and cultural review for the English-to-Hindi translations, I was struck by how thoughtfully this course was built – precise, context-specific, and easy to understand, with a team that made the whole process smooth and collaborative. I deeply appreciate the thoughtfulness behind translating it into Hindi and Telugu, a huge step, and one of the first of its kind, that will carry this course from the metro cities to the villages.

Drawing on my own work in music therapy with people living with dementia, it also affirmed core principles I hold dear: autonomy, listening, patience, validation, with music based techniques. I believe this course will certainly open perspectives and can become a strong, evidence-based adjunct to dementia care in India, almost like a music therapy first aid, simple enough for any caregiver to use.
