Our Distance Learning Programme, “Therapeutic Work Through Music for Children with Disabilities,” has been successfully running in Romania since 2011. We are delighted to announce that applications are now officially open for the 2026 Romanian course, which will commence in February.
You can find the Application Form at the end of this blog post.
I noticed a significant difference between the musical activities I typically run with children and a Music as Therapy session.

What is the Distance Learning Programme?
This course provides Romanian participants with both the essential theoretical and practical guidance needed to develop and implement an effective music-based therapeutic programme for children with disabilities.
Who is this Programme for?
The Distance Learning Programme is designed for Romanian practitioners who want to enhance their skills in using music to support the developmental, social, and emotional needs of the children they work with. This course is suitable for anyone working in Romania, with children under 10 years old, who are experiencing difficulties associated with:
- Autistic Spectrum Condition
- Down Syndrome
- Developmental delay
- Communication difficulties
- Hearing Impairment
- Visual Impairment
- Cerebral Palsy
- Physical Disabilities
No prior musical training is required to apply.
What does the Programme entail?
The programme is divided into two components: Theoretical (February to September) and Practical (October to December).
