Farewell and thank you to Jane Robbie
- Organisation

Jane’s journey with us began in 2000 as our very first employee. Over the next 17 years, she played a central role in shaping and delivering our work, before becoming a Trustee in 2017. Throughout her time with the charity, Jane consistently embodied our values—bringing compassion, generosity, and deep integrity to everything she did.
Whether she was walking alongside Partners from afar, raising funds, or welcoming and supporting the changing members of the team, Jane’s impact cannot be overestimated. Her positive presence and deep understanding of our work made her a an invaluable asset, and one that will surely be missed.
Reflecting on Jane’s time with the charity, our founder and director Alexia shared:
When Jane joined Music as Therapy International as our first employee back in 2000, I knew she was going to be great but I could not have imagined what an incredible asset she would be to the charity for the next 25 years!
Jane fulfilled many different roles for us until 2017, when she stepped back from direct involvement in delivering our activities and brought all her experience and expertise to the Board as a Trustee.
From travelling to meet and work with our Partners in several different countries, to rolling her sleeves up (or donning her running shoes!) to helps us raise money for our work, joining our Advisory Panel meetings as a bridge between these invaluable specialists advisors and the board of Trustees, and stewarding new volunteers and contributors to our projects, Jane’s contributions to our work have been far reaching.
She leaves the charity robust and ready to embrace its next chapter, with one final legacy – hers is the voice you hear narrating our Music Helps UK online training course for caregivers of people living with dementia.
Words cannot express our gratitude for everything she brought to Music as Therapy International, she will be sorely missed. We wish her all the best with her own charity which focuses on strengthening charitable organisations within Sussex, The Pearce Foundation.
We are immensely grateful to Jane for everything she has given to Music as Therapy International. Her legacy will continue to be felt across our work for years to come.
Thank you Jane!
