Following the successful development and translation of Music Helps: India, we’re delighted to announce that the course is now available on our new online training platform, musichelps.training. The platform makes it easier for caregivers to access the course in their preferred language and engage with practical learning about using music to support people living with dementia.

I found Music Helps to be a valuable and inspiring course. It provided practical strategies and real-life examples that made it easy to understand how music can support people living with dementia.

Since its pilot, 475 people have already enrolled on Music Helps: India. Enrollees have participated from over 60 different Indian cities and 30 countries worldwide.

Using the music therapy techniques I learned in this course, I helped reduce the symptoms of anxiety and restlessness in a person with dementia. When I regularly play their favourite music, their mood improves and they feel more calm and relaxed. This has significantly reduced their anxiety and improved the care environment. Seeing this positive change has been very encouraging and inspired me to continue providing care through music.

We’d like to give a special thank you to Nick at Southbrae Digital for skillfully building the multilingual platform, as well as to our dedicated Hindi and Telugu-speaking contributors.

We are excited for the contributions the course can make towards strengthening dementia care across India and beyond. We’re hugely grateful to everyone who has helped bring Music Helps: India to this new platform, and we’re excited to make this resource available to even more caregivers across India.
