As we come to the end of our current strategic period and start thinking ahead to our next, we are grateful for the insight and guidance of our Advisory Panel. They act as both a champion of our work and a critical friend, helping us to celebrate what we do well, identify areas for growth, and ensures our thinking is grounded in the realities of the communities we work with.

The focus on sustainable practice is so crucial and I think sets Music as Therapy International apart from many other international development projects.

The Panel values the charity’s strong emphasis on sustainability, long-term partnerships, and the thoughtful consideration it gives to sensitivities relating to both international development practice and fostering emerging music therapy practice in other countries.

Empowering practitioners to use music therapeutically, sensitively consulting them and working alongside them to provide support tailored to their needs and context, empowering them to shape the direction of their own work…

However, whilst the Panel place great importance on the charity’s international role it welcomes the extension of our activities in the UK, at a time where there are significant needs close to home which our work can help to address.

All valuable feedback to help us shape our new Strategy which we will be launching in 2026.  Watch this space!
