This was thought-provoking and inspired me to become more involved in research and to present at future conferences.
I am beyond grateful to Music as Therapy International for making it possible for me to attend the World Congress of Music Therapy in Bologna, July 2026.
The congress was a wonderful opportunity to connect with music therapists and researchers from around the world, exchanging and sharing ideas and experiences.
The highlights of the congress were:
- Working alongside my colleagues, Larisa and Monika, gathering data, analysing, summarising and preparing the presentation. This was thought-provoking and inspired me to become more involved in research and to present at future conferences.
- Presenting the development of music therapy in Romania, by showcasing the DLP Romania course and the effects of this on the course graduates
- Meeting with the extended Music as Therapy International team from Romania, Georgia, the UK and Jordan
- Connecting with music therapists from South American countries, where, like in Romania, music therapy training and provision is still developing, sharing ideas, experiences and encouraging one another
- Witnessing the diversity of presentations and music therapy approaches, which helped enrich my understanding of the diversity of music therapy across the globe
- Music-making with colleagues from South American countries and discovering new instruments
