FENAID have been offering music sessions to their service users since we first introduced the setting to music as therapy in 2018 and over the years the caregivers at the centre have seen how music can help the individuals with disabilities to thrive.

FENAID has a network of schools supporting teachers who work with children with a range of additional needs and FENAID would like to see music strengthen wider care provision for all individuals with disabilities beyond their centre but also in schools.

So recently our Partners from FENAID have asked us to support them advocate for the role of music within education for children and young people with disabilities by working together to create a leaflet in Amharic (English version here) that provides necessary information to inspire their network of schools to find out more about what music might offer them too.

It is very admirable to see FENAID working towards developing a larger network of settings using music in Ethiopia.
