    Our 7th delivery of this Distance Learning course, much aided by the work of our Local Moderator Monika Szabo. The course comprises a series of 7 monthly tutorials and written assignments, participation in an Intensive Study Weekend – hosted by the University of Bucharest – and a supervised Practical Assignment.

  • Distance learning programme: Development 2016

    Romania

    After 6 successful deliveries of our “Music for young children with disabilities” training, delivered as a Distance Learning Model, we took the decision to suspend the project for a year in order to focus on building capacity to secure its longterm future. We continued local discussions with people who may be able to help us gain locally recognised accreditation for the course and we appointed a local moderator, Monika Szabo, to help us with its delivery in the future.

  • Conference Participation: Brasov 2016

    Romania

    Following the conference we convened in 2015, the Universitatea din Transilvania offered to take on the leadership of this event going forward. This was the first conference they organised themselves. We encouraged the engagement of our Local Partners across Romania and attended ourselves to run workshops and give a presentation to introduce the Research Summary we were prompted to compile following local request at the conference in 2015.

  • Locally-led training: Cluj 2016

    Romania

    When approached by one of our Corporate Sponsors who were seeking training for staff working in a school for children with autism they support in Cluj, we were able to signpost them to access locally led training delivered by one of our recommended Trainers, Monika Szabo.

  • 20th Anniversary Conference: Brasov 2015

    Romania

    Marking the 20th Anniversary of our pilot project in Romania, we brought together 70 of our Local Partners and other key influencers for a celebration of all that had changed, sharing of good practice and building links between academics and practitioners to think about what lies ahead. Local Partners presented their work (papers and poster displays) and Advisory Panel members shared clinical work from the UK. The papers were published in Romanian for wider dissemination.

    The 6th delivery of training delivered through our Distance Learning Model, this course comprised a series of 7 monthly tutorials and written assignments, participation in an Intensive Study Weekend – hosted by our partners from the Day Centre ‘Sf. Maria’ in Cluj – and a supervised Practical Assignment. The course can accommodate up to 12 practitioners interested to learn how they can use music within the care and/or edication they provide for young children with disabilities in different care settings around the country.
