Through a combination of part-time study and in-situ practice over the past eight months, our students have demonstrated the skills and confidence to lead their own, targeted music sessions for the children they work with. With a student cohort spanning from London to Bradford, our Early Years practitioners have so far delivered music sessions to a collective total of 33 children in their respective settings, with a widest possible reach of 457 children.

Our students’ progress and commitment to their practice was evident in their final presentations last month. Each student shared heartening examples of how their music sessions opened up opportunities for new social interactions, play, and self-expression among their young children.

I am going to be loud today! Loud like a monster! Rah!

Child, 2022

Kids are smiling, laughing, singing and dancing all together. I was not expecting that running these [IMM] sessions would bring so much joy in my life!

Interactive Music-Maker, 2022

It’s almost like therapy for me!

Interactive Music-Maker, 2022

Our student graduates now qualify to join our growing Interactive Music-Makers’ network, with regular access to CPD events and wider opportunities to support their ongoing practice.

Congratulations to each of our graduating students and we look forward to following your individual IMM journeys for years to come!
