Inspiration is one of our four-stage approach to fulfil our mission to inspire, guide and champion caregivers’ use of music to strengthen care; and through electronic Posters at this year’s World Congress of Music Therapy in July, this is a perfect opportunity to speak about the role of music in strengthening care, sharing good practice and highlighting the impact of our activities for caregivers and care providers.

We see this opportunity as not only great for us but also a fantastic chance for our Partners’ to inspire others globally with their stories and experiences of using music, which is why we are co-creating a few of our ePosters with some of our Partners from Georgia, India and Rwanda.

Our Georgian Partner, Teona Kacheishvili, Georgian music therapist Tako Jordania and music therapist Jenny Laahs, will be contributing towards an ePoster focused on how music therapy has been established in Georgia and reflect on what the future may hold for its emerging practice.

Another ePoster will explore the innovation and international collaboration required to develop our online training course, Music Helps, for caregivers of people living with dementia in India.  This ePoster will be created together with our Partner and founder of Kshetra Assisted Living, Pavithra Gangadharan, and music therapist Nina Cherla.

We will work with our Rwanda Partners and Trainers, Audace Musoni, Alphonsine Musabyemariya and Fidele Nshimiye to create another ePoster that will celebrate the way they have established their own training model in response to wide interest within care settings across Rwanda.

The fourth ePoster will have more of our other Partners’ voices heard as it will focus on our International Partner Survey Report published in 2021, reflecting on the achievements and practice of current global music therapy pioneers worldwide.

We will be making a start on creating the four ePosters soon and we will have some of the content also translated into our Partners’ local languages as they can share the ePosters with their wider network within their country.

So watch this space for when we share the finalised ePosters…

Are you using music in the care that you provide?
