  • Sharing good practice: ELCJHLS (Beit Sahour, Bethlehem and Ramallah) 2021

    Local Partner, Samar Andoni, a social worker from the Evangelical Lutheran Schools received help from music therapist and Advisory Panel member, Hazel Childs, to prepare her to deliver a training and share her skills of using music with other teachers in the schools.

  • On-site skill-sharing: ELCJHLS (Beit Sahour, Bethlehem and Ramallah) 2019

    Working with local social worker, Samar, – herself one of our partners since 2013 – we provided training and a supervised Practical Assignment to develop the potential for new teachers working at 3 schools run by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jerusalem and the Holy Land schools in in the towns of Beit Sahour, Bethlehem and Ramallah to use music with their students.

  • Distance learning programme evaluation 2019

    Occupied Palestinian Territories

    We travelled to the Ocupied Palestinian Territories to undertake the second phase of a 2-year evaluation of our course “Music for Young Children with Disablities”. With the help of Sounds of Palestine and Musicians Without Borders, we were able to meet with, interview and observe sessions run by our Distance Learning Programme graduates 2016-19.

  • Consultancy: Jerusalem 2018

    We provided consultancy to an independent music therapist delivering introductory training to staff working with chdilren with disabilities at the Jerusalem Princess Basma Centre.

    Occupied Palestinian Territories

    We travelled to the Occupied Palestinian Territories to undertake the first phase of a 2-year evaluation of our distance learning course “Music for Young Children with Disabilities”.     The second delivery of this training course, delivered via our Distance Learning Model, run in partnership with Musicians Without Borders. The course comprises a series of 7 monthly tutorials and written assignments, participation in an Intensive Study Weekend – hosted by Sounds of Palestine – and a supervised Practical Assignment, al of which equip participating activity leaders and social workers to use music in their work with children in the region.

  • Distance learning programme: OPT 2015

    Occupied Palestinian Territories

    We partnered with Musician Without Borders to pilot the use of our Distance Learning Model in the Occupied Palestinian Territories. This pilot enabled us to explore the relevance of extending the model beyond Romania with all materials translated into Arabic and tailored to local culture and care practice.

    We returned to spend time with our partners at three schools run by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jordan and the Holy Land in Ramallah, Bethlehem and Beit Sahour, to support their continued use of music following our introductory training the previous year. Sharing successes, developing practice and trouble shooting!
