I’m just back from a dynamic and interesting
meeting with a wide group of people involved in the care of people
with dementia in Wales, who are keen to look at whether care staff
and activity organisers in care homes might be skilled to use some
musical activities to broaden what they can currently offer.
The meeting was chaired by Liz Coombes (Programme Leader MA
in Music Therapy) and Music as Therapy International was
invited to see if there might be scope for our involvement in
developing a skill-sharing initiative, given our experience of do
this in a wide variety of contexts and in a wide variety of forms.
We very much hope to do this, as the stakeholder group and meeting
Chair decide the next steps in this project.
