As part of our strategic commitment to entrusting others to develop, deliver and coordinate different aspects of our work, we are excited to announce the appointment of Larisa Neculai as the Distance Learning Programme Co-ordinator (Romania) and Eleonora (Eli) Rosca as Supervisor to the programme’s participants during their Practical Assignments.

Larisa was herself a participant in our Distance Learning Programme back in 2019 before moving to the UK to train as a music therapist at the University of the West of England.  She has a longstanding commitment to supporting the development of music therapy in Romania and has previously contributed to aspects of the Intensive Study Training we offer participants in the Distance Learning Programme.  She has a wealth of experience and skills, which we feel lucky to be able to draw on as she begins to work alongside our fantastic course Moderator, Monika Manases, and other members of the team who are involved in the delivery of the Distance Learning Programme.

I deeply appreciate Music as Therapy International‘s values, and I respect the exceptional work the charity has done throughout its extensive history in Romania. Therefore, I am enthusiastic about taking on this role, as it aligns with my interests and represents an important step in my career development.

I’m excited about the opportunity to learn and evolve as the Distance Learning Programme’s Co-Ordinator while maintaining my commitment to supporting the students. With a firm belief in the positive impact of the course, I am thrilled to be part of its future.

Larisa Neculai

Eleonora trained as a music therapist at Nordoff and Robbins in the UK, where she worked for several years before returning to establish her music therapy practice in Oradea, Romania.  She has worked with a worked with children and adults with additional needs in a wide range of settings and is currently working with children with neuromotor disorders, autism, and other complex needs, as well as with adults with multiple sclerosis.

Eleonora joined our Distance Learning Programme Intensive Study Training in 2022 and has taken a keen interest in the course ever since.  Her clinical experience and deep understanding of the Romanian context will be invaluable when she provides supervision to our course participants during their Practical Assignments.

I am delighted to be collaborating with Music as Therapy International on providing supervision support to their Distance Learning Programme trainees as part of their practical assignments!

I have been a long-term admirer of the charity’s work in Romania and I am excited to be joining efforts in making music therapy and its benefits available more widely in Romania. Thank you for the opportunity!

Eleonora Rosca

Are you in Romania and interested in the Distance Learning Programme?

Our Distance Learning Programme starts with a theoretical component as students work to develop a deeper understanding of the theory of music therapy through written assignments.

This is followed by an Intensive Study Training in which the practical component starts and where participants have the chance to meet in-person and discuss the theory they have learnt.

The intensive study weekend was one of the best courses I have attended recently. I received answers to all questions, I learned a lot of things that helped me in practice.

After the Intensive Study Training, students complete their practical assignments where they put into practice everything they have learnt over the past several months.

If you work with children with disabilities and would like to learn how you could use music in your work, please get in touch. Email invatarelasdistanta@musicastherapy.org to register your interest in joining the course in 2024.
