  • Follow-up visit: The ARMS Centre (Hyderabad) 2016

    India

    We returned to our partners at Patashala School and the ARMS Centre for children and adults with autism (Hyderabad), to support their developing use of music. Sharing successes, developing practice and troubleshooting.

    Rwanda

    We returned to visit our Local Partners in Gisenyi who had been running their music programme for over a year. Since a follow up visit in 2015 a house for therapy and rehabilitation had been opened opposite the Ubumwe Community Centre with a room dedicated to music therapy that can be used by our Local Partners. Our visit was an opportunity to support our partners adapting their use of music, partly inluenced by national reforms of statutory care which led to the closure of the Noel de Nyundo orphanage.

  • Follow-up visit: Oaklands Children’s Centre (Newport) 2016

    United Kingdom

    We returned to Oaklands Children’s Centre 6 months after they received their introductory training project, to support their continued use of music with chidlren and young people with profound and multiple learning difficulties. Sharing successes, developing practice and troubleshooting.

  • Support visit: Public School No.198 and Parent’s Bridge Centre (Tbilisi) 2015

    Georgia

    We returned to our partners at Public School No.198 and staff at the Parent’s Bridge centre for children and adults with learning disablities in Tbilisi for a week, to support their developing use of music with the children who attend the school. Sharing successes, developing practice and troubleshooting.

    United Kingdom

    We convened our first CPD event for early years practitioners who had graduated from the Interactive Music-Making programme. An opportunity to share successes, pool ideas and troubleshoot.

  • Follow-up visit: Noel de Nyundo Orphanage and Ubumwe Community Centre (Gisenyi) 2015

    Rwanda

    We returned to our partners at the Noel de Nyundo Orphanage and Ubumwe Community Centre, beneficiaries of our Introductory Training Project in 2014, to share their successes, provide professional guidance and trouble shoot within a 1-week follow-up visit.

    Georgia

    We returned to our partners at Public School N.200 (Tbilisi) for a short visit to provide professional support to the teachers who had continued using music since originally receiving training from us in 2011.

    Rwanda

    We returned to visit our partners at Ngwino Nawe (since renamed The Alivera Centre) and Nkanka (since re-named Urugwiro Centre) to support their ongoing work with music, launch our training DVD and explore how they might be able to share their skills as trainers themselves.

  • Support visits: Romania 2013

    Romania

    We travelled extensively in Romania this year, returning to visit our partners from 1998 to the present in all corners of the country. Our visits took us to Bacau, Bistrita, Cighid, Cluj, Constanta, Oradea, Ploiesti, Sibiu, Targu Mures,Techirghiol,Timisoara and Vaslui where we had the opportunity to observe music sessions, evaluate current practice, provide guidance and support, and canvass local views on how we could develop the training and support we offer.
