    Occupied Palestinian Territories

    We returned to spend time with our partners at three schools run by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jordan and the Holy Land in Ramallah, Bethlehem and Beit Sahour, to support their continued use of music following our introductory training the previous year. Sharing successes, developing practice and trouble shooting!

    Romania

    We were delighted to donate new musical insturments to a local partner who had been using music since training with us in 1998. The request came as she embarked on working in a new setting and needed the resources to enable her to embed music into her work with children with autistic spectrum disorders in Bacau.

  • Training DVD: Rwanda 2012

    Rwanda

    In response to local request, we put together a Training DVD as a culturally meaningful way to introduce the concept of music therapy and some of the key principles to a wider audience of people working with children and adults with special needs in Rwanda, as well as being a resource to consolidate our existing rwandan Partners’ understanding of how they are currently using music.

    We returned to spend time with our partners at Ngwino Nawe (since renamed The Alivera Centre) and Nkanka (since re-named Urugwiro Centre) in Cyangugu, to support their continued use of music following our introductory training the previous year.   • Musical instrument fund: Romania 2011

    Romania

    We were delighted to award a Discretionary Grant to one of our local partners, as she set up a new setting providing support to children with disabilities in Timisoara. The grant comprised the donation of musical insturments to equip Centru Vivart and to enable our local partner to embed music sessions into the centre’s timetable.

    Romania

    Hosted by our partners at Fundatia de Sprijin Comunitar (Bacau), this training event focused on guiding 19 of our Local Partners’ consideration of the Role of Boundaries in Therapeutic Work with Music, particlarly in relation to working with challenging behaviour.
