  • Musical Instrument Fund: Romania 2022

    Romania

    We donated new musical instruments to three Local Partners in Romania to replenish their musical instruments.

    Ethiopia

    We returned to our partners at Hospice Ethiopia, FENAID and Gefersa Mental Health Rehabilitation Centre to support their continued use of music, see their practice, share successes, provide some additional training and troubleshoot.

  • Follow-up Visit: Caol Primary School (Fort William) 2022

    We returned to Caol Primary School (Fort William, Highlands) to support staff with their continued use of music after their Introductory Training in 2021. Sharing successes, developing practice and troubleshooting.

  • Sharing good practice: International Partner Survey Report 2021

    In 2019-2020, we invited our Partners around the world to complete a survey so we can understand more about the impact of their initial music trainings and in 2021 we created a report based on their responses. We shared the report with our international Partners, which we also translated into 6 local languages spoken by many of our Partners (Romanian, Arabic, Kinyarwanda, Georgian, Amharic and Burmese).

    A translated version of our ‘Adults with Learning Disabilities Musical Activities’ and our ‘Interactive Music-Making for People Living with Dementia’ resources were shared with our Romanian Partners.

    Georgia

    A translated version of our ‘Children with Disabilities Musical Activities’ resource was shared with our Georgian Partners. Also music therapist and Advisory Panel member, Jenny Laahs, provided supervision for 3 music sessions ran by a Local Partner.

  • Research summary: 2nd Edition 2020

    Romania

    We produced an updated ‘2nd Edition’ of the Research Summary we first produced in 2016, in response to requests from people pioneering the use of music therapy in countries where it is not a widely recognised or established form of intervention.
